What’s Happening With the Friends?

Behind-the Scenes Library Tour (June 6, 2025)

Our June 6th behind-the-scenes tour of the Library for Friends members was a huge success!

In addition to being awed by our beautiful, newly renovated and expanded Haverford Township Free Library, attendees were treated to details about the rebuild from two experts who were on the Building Committee.

Friends members were particularly proud to tour the Gaming Area located within the brand new Teen Library. The Friends Gaming Area features video game equipment as well as card and board games. It will also host the Library’s Dungeons and Dragons club and many other gatherings.

The Friends Gaming Area is a direct reflection of the Friends support of the Library. The Friends made a $50,000 donation to the Library’s Next Chapter for Every Generation Capital Campaign. This donation was made possible by the generous contributions of Friends members, and it launches the Friends’ ongoing commitment to supply the Gaming Area with updated and necessary equipment, furniture, games, and more for years to come. We’re proud to provide this fun, safe space for Haverford Township teens and tweens to play games, learn, and socialize.

Thank you to all who attended, and special thanks to the Library staff, our tour guides Deb Morley and Scott Lowe, and the Friends Board for the time and effort you put into this event. Thanks also to Carlino's Market for your food donation, and to Joel Perlish for the wonderful photos. See all of Joel's photos from the event.
